The Sewing Test to Check Seam Accuracy
The Sewing Test to check seam accuracy. Find out how accurate your scant quarter inch seams are. Why guess when you can tell for sure?
- Cut 4 – 1.5″ x 4.5″ fabric strips.
- Use a new, size 75 machine quilting needle and a neutral or blending color of 100% cotton sewing thread (size 50/3) in the top and bobbin.
- Sew the strips together with an accurate ¨” seam allowance.
- Press the seam allowances to one side.
- Adjust your seam allowance until the finished pieces measures 4.5″ x 4.5″
